A Cut Above Tree Service was established in 2014 by Garrett Nelson. What began as a one-man operation in Sumpter, Oregon — with Garrett climbing trees by harness — quickly grew through hard work and dedication. In 2015, he opened a shop in Baker City and invested in his first set of equipment, including a bucket truck and chipper. Since then, the company has steadily grown into a respected tree service with two full-time crews and a full fleet of professional equipment.
A Cut Above has earned a strong reputation for reliability, professionalism, and expert tree care. Our crews are well-trained in proper pruning and removal techniques, ensuring every project is completed safely and to the highest standard.
Today, the company continues to operate out of Baker City, serving customers across Baker and Union Counties with a continued focus on quality, safety, and professional service.

How long is my estimate valid for?
Our estiamtes are valid for 12 months from the date they're issued. If your estimate has expired but you'd like to move forward with the work , just give us a call - we'll be happy to provide an updated estimate at no cost.

Our regular business hours are Monday through Thursday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Our emerangcy tree services are avalible 24/7 and can be reached at 541-519-6230

Do you accept card payments?
Yes, we gladly accept credit and debit card payments. Please note that all card transactions include a 3.5% processing fee
Do you treat or spray for sick or infected trees?
We do not currently offer spraying or treatment services. However, we're happy to schedual a consultation to assess your tree's condition and provide guidance on the best course of action.
